“Ths nglsh sntnc s wrttn nl wth cnsnntl chrctrs” is the consonant sequence for the sentence “This English sentence is written only with consonantal characters.” Hebrew and Arabic speakers read and write daily using such consonant-only sequences. Such a script is called abjad or consonantary by Daniels and Bright (1996) as explained in Chap. 10. This chapter concerns text entry in abjads.
