Recent developments in elastic fibers and yarns for sportswear

Abstract
The elastomeric fiber has achieved multiple advances in the sportswear industry. The traditional and new elastic fibers with improved properties give sportswear compression, freedom of movement, and comfort, which are essential for athletes in most sports. In this chapter, recent developments of elastomeric fibers, yarns, and fabrics used in sportswear and related spinning, weaving, and knitting technologies are introduced systematically. The future trends of elastic fibers for sportswear are also stressed.
