Knitting technology for seamless sportswear

Abstract

This chapter covers the aspects of knitting technology utilized in design, engineering and manufacturing of seamless sportswear. It briefly covers the sport garments manufacturing pipeline from textile fibres to finished garment as well as a number of technologies that are employed in this process with a review of the requirements for sport garments such as thermal balance and thermal regulation, ergonomic and utility requisites, tactile sensation and body surface segmentation and mapping.
