Abstract
During sports activities, the human body produces different amounts of heat and moisture (sweat). In the cold, the main aim of the clothing is to keep the body thermally comfortable, which requires an optimal heat and moisture transport. In addition to providing sufficient protection from external weather conditions like wind and precipitation, an excessive accumulation of moisture in the form of condensation in the clothing layers has to be avoided, as it would impair the thermal insulation.
