Chapter 8BE BETTER AT CHANGE Stop trying to get people on the bus

Think of a time when an attempt at organisational change failed.

If you're sitting there thinking, ‘I can't, because everything my company or team has ever tried, we've just smashed it out of the park. I'm afraid I have no frame of reference’, then feel free to skip this chapter.

If, however, one or more instances of failed change attempts spring to mind, take a moment to jot down the reasons — as you see them — for the failure.

Some reasons will have had a more significant impact than others, but if you feel they contributed to the failure then include them.

Jot down as many reasons for failed change attempts as you can think of.
