The coffee tastes particularly good this morning, Barton thought, as he settled in behind his desk to catch up on things he’d been neglecting. Monday and Tuesday had been a blur, getting ready for the IT review in the senior leadership meeting on Tuesday afternoon. Barton, aided by Geisler and his other direct reports, especially Ruben, had been scrambling to make sure all the i’s were dotted and the t’s crossed before Barton went into the big meeting.
