It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to Host a Story-Gathering Workshop
Now, before we can go off and create our agile project plan, we need a list of all the features our customers think they would like to see in their software. One way to do this is to host a story-gathering workshop—a venue for the development team and customer to get together and write user stories about the system they would like to build.
The goal of the story-gathering workshop is breadth. You want to cast your net wide and discover as many features as possible. It is not because you are necessarily going to build them all; it’s more because you want to get everything on the table and make sure you have the big picture.
