HOME IS WHERE THE CARE IS
The home is where much more care can and should be provided. Unfortunately, the current payment system for healthcare services directs a disproportionate amount of care into higher-cost facilities that deliver the same or inferior outcomes. From a cost perspective, institution-based care is three to eight times more expensive than equivalent home-based care. Equally important, patients prefer home-based care when it is available.
