Although everything that we have discussed up to this point is related to the topic of digital compositing, most of it would also fit just as well into a book about using computer-based paint or image-editing programs. We have talked about a variety of tools for combining and manipulating images, but primarily have looked at these tools only as they are applied to a single, static image. The focus of this chapter is to move beyond the single-frame mentality into a discussion about how the concepts that we’ve been discussing apply to a sequence of images.
