Introduction

The number of applications that allow for color correction of moving images has exploded since I first began doing color correction. This expanding universe of opportunity means that many people have the tools to do great color-correction work without being tied to an expensive telecine or film scanner. As the old saying goes though, “Owning a hammer doesn’t make you a carpenter.” Although my color-correction experience is more in the context of being a video editor, I wanted this book to provide direct access to the skills and wisdom of real colorists.
