CAMERA MOVES CONSIDERED
Now that you've gotten your feet wet and seen a little matchmoving in action, let's look at the meat and potatoes of the matchmove world in more detail: camera tracking.
In general, you will find that you'll get one of a few types of camera moves to match. These include:
• Lockoff
• Pan and tilt
• Truck/dolly/tracking
• Crane
• Steadicam or handheld
• Focus pull or zoom
You may also find shots that combine one or more of these moves. Not to worry! There are ways to handle each of these types of shots. Let's look at each one in a little more detail, and good ways to attack them.
