Some directors love the research and conceptualizing that leads up to a production. Some directors love the collaboration of the design process. Still other directors love the reveal of opening a show to an audience. But not all directors love all of those things. The one area of a production, though, that every director I have ever known really loves, is working and running rehearsals. This is the time that you get to put the show on its feet, see it grow and develop, collaborate with the actors, and watch them bring the characters to life.
