Simplify Birds into Basic Shapes

In the following pages you will find numerous drawings of birds. Draw these birds using the five questions you just learned. Start with the simpler birds and work your way up to the more complex birds. Each drawing is accompanied by the basic shapes I used to simplify each subject, but remember, there is no single, correct way to do this. You are encouraged to simplify the birds into the shapes that make the most sense to you.

At this stage of your drawing education your goal is not to produce completed drawings with detail and shading, but simply to capture the basic shapes and forms of your subject using light, soft lines. This is one of the most essential but overlooked skills in the drawing process. ...
