Goal-setting matters. Sometimes we forget the real value of setting goals. For a quick refresher, consider a Harvard study that tracked MBA graduates (reported in Goals, a book by Brian Tracy). Of these new graduates, only 3 percent had written goals, 13 percent had goals but they were not written down, and 84 percent had no specific goals at all. After 10 years, the study found, the 13 percent who'd had goals but hadn't written them down were earning twice as much as the graduates who'd had no goals.
