So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 2
Microchip 8-bit architecture
Abstract
The chapter introduces the reader to Microchip’s 8-bit architecture. Each element is introduced with a brief summary of its function as it relates to the microcontroller as a whole. The microcontroller data sheet of the PICmicro 10Fxxx is supplied as Appendix E. As the chapter walks through each portion of the microcontroller’s architecture, the block diagram is shown in the figures, with each section highlighted in red, blue, or green. The chapter covers the arithmetic logic unit (ALU), inputs and outputs (I/O), an internal system clock, the data bus, the program bus and peripherals.
