Alison Palmer Bourke: Producing Independent Visions
Alison Bourke joined IFC in 1996, when it was a small organization with fewer than 100 employees, the sister network to Bravo. As she says, “I decided to make it my mission in my young, twentysomething life to get a job working with Caroline Kaplan in production.” When the two networks split, Kaplan joined Jonathan Sehring to form IFC Entertainment—a production and distribution group—while Bourke focused her efforts on the documentary side. “In the beginning it was just the three of us. Everyone did everything.”
