Chapter 6. Enterprise Information Architecture: Operational Model

In this chapter, we describe the operational characteristics of the Enterprise Information Architecture (EIA). This chapter should help you understand the definition and distribution of an IT system’s components onto geographically distributed nodes,1 also known as the Operational Model. We focus on the Information Services components in the EIA Reference Architecture. This chapter is predominately targeted at enterprise architects, information architects, and system architects; however, it can also be used as a reference for IT experts from different skill domains.
