Digital audio signals
Digital techniques have been adopted very rapidly and have changed the nature of sound reproduction considerably, especially in recording. Unfortunately digital technology relies on an utterly different set of principles from analog. Many audio engineers who were highly experienced in analog audio failed to learn these new principles and found themselves unable to make considered judgements when digital audio was involved. The careful reader of this chapter will have no such difficulty.
