There you are, living your best life and being in flow when bam—suddenly you lose that flow along with your confidence and resilience.
A setback can happen in a moment and last a long time. From the perspective of pro athletes, losing your flow is an easy thing to do. One day you’re making the shot from the 3-point line, and the next day you can’t hit the rim anywhere on the court. I coach a professional basketball player, we’ll call Sam for privacy reasons. Our conversation during a coaching session went something like this:
Sam: I think I’ve lost my edge. I don’t think I’m good enough to be on the team with the other players in the league anymore. ...
