Princess Ariel was fascinated by the human world. Despite warnings from her father, King Triton, Ariel dreamed of exploring the land above the sea. On one of her adventures, she witnessed a shipwreck during a storm and rescued a human, Prince Eric. The young mermaid princess fell in love with him and made a deal with the sea witch Ursula to become human so they could be together.
In exchange for legs, Ariel gave the sea witch her voice. This made it difficult for her to communicate with Eric, which was a problem because she was on a tight timeline. If she couldn't make Eric fall in love with her, Ursula would get to keep her soul.
Ariel had trouble adapting to her legs and the loss of her identity. But she was determined to make Eric fall in love with her and pursue her dream of living on land. Because of Ariel's determination and charm, Eric fell in love with her, just in time for Ursula to intervene, causing more problems for Ariel. With the help of her friends, Ariel was able to break the curse and reclaim her voice. But she was back in her mermaid form.
King Triton could see how much happier Ariel was with Eric and her legs, so he let her choose her own path and gave her his blessing to stay on land and marry her prince. Ariel ended up with the ...
