Why Should I Care about Symbols?
At first, as with all the other features of any unfamiliar software program, I was mildly annoyed by the term itself — “symbol.” Good grief! I exclaimed to myself. These people are Macromedia, the same ones who created Director, aren’t they? Why not just call them Castmembers (their counterparts in Director, naturally), and be done with it?
