Optimizing Inventory Distribution for a Musical Instrument Rental Company

I have found a consistent pattern that arises in most consulting engagements. At the start of the project, spirits are high and people are energized. The executive who is sponsoring the work gives a rousing introduction to the business and provides his perspective on the problem we are tasked with addressing. We meet with various stakeholders and rapidly climb the learning curve of understanding the company’s business and its challenges. Usually, by the end of the first few days, we feel like we have a pretty good sense of what the problem is and how we are going to go about tackling it. We think we have a clear path forward, that the case is cracked.
