WORK STATION
Set up a work area that has good lighting and enough room to lay out your tools. All you really need is natural lighting. If you draw at night, you can use a soft white lightbulb and a cool white fluorescent light to provide both warm (yellowish) and cool (bluish) light.
DRAWING
HB pencil: I use an HB pencil to draw my subject. A sharpened HB pencil produces crisp lines and offers you good control. If your pencil has a rounded point, you can create somewhat thicker lines and use it to shade smaller areas.
