PROJECT SIX
PLANET EARTH
We’re all used to looking at images of the Earth, so to get your viewers’ eyes to see it three-dimensionally, you have to work very precisely. When drawing freehand, you won’t be able to produce a perfect replica of an object, and you don’t have to. Your subject should look painted rather than photographed, and it’s OK to have a few small imperfections.
Still, the Earth should look as round as possible, and each continent must retain its natural proportions. Choosing the right colors is also important for creating a true-to-life image.
