Creating Cells
The bubbles and patterns you see in poured artwork are called “cells.” You can use a few products to create cells, including liquid silicone or dimethicone, which is what we’ll focus on in this book.
SILICONE & DIMETHICONE
One way to create cells—and in my opinion the easiest—is with liquid silicone or dimethicone. These are included in many household and cosmetic products and are easy to find in stores and online. Dimethicone can be found in hair oils and serums, and 100-percent liquid silicone is used for car maintenance and home improvement and repairs. Check the list of ingredients on a product, and make sure silicone or dimethicone ranks in the top two or three.
