WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

For the past 35 years or so IT professionals have been trying to perfect the art of managing IT projects and programmes. When I started my career in IT there were no methodologies to follow; the approach was very much a ‘fly by the seat of your pants’ one. Then over the years various methodologies and productivity tools were born and subsequently died. Each new generation attempted to give more control, predictability and certainty, and the pendulum swung from very little control to very tight control.
