We’ve spent a good portion of our journey getting to know some electronics basics, interacting with the BeagleBone Black, and understanding the Linux operating system. Now we look under the hood of some of the interactions that have been taken care of for us by libraries, such as the Adafruit_BBIO Python library. In this chapter, we take a peek at the more complicated structure under the hood to gain a better appreciation for the work that libraries do for us and understand the hardware a little better, including the Cape expansion board system.
