The sapling enterprise
The next phase of the life of your business, the ‘sapling’, covers the period when it grows from the founding team to a business with around 25 people on board.
Why 25? I have no idea, but I discovered it to be another magic number, like 5. At The Instruction Set the whole nature of the company changed after we grew beyond 25. It turned from a tribe into a machine almost overnight. I have seen the same happen in many other businesses since.
