Once upon a time …

… there were three people sitting in a pub.

These three people talked, as people in pubs should do, about their enthusiasms. Some young men at the bar were discussing football. Two tables away, a young couple were discussing holding a housewarming party in their new home. Next to us, an older couple discussed the problem of moss on lawns. We were talking about business.

One of us had this brilliant idea – but he was always having brilliant ideas. But for once, his idea sounded special. Maybe this would work … I got another round in, and we began to look at the idea more closely, making notes on the beermats that were on the table, as we had no paper to hand.
