Chapter . Virginia Tech Massacre

The Virginia Tech shooting led to two waves of political cartoon response. The first was the kind of sweet but stale depictions of praying hands, candles, and fresh graves: a tribute to the memory of the victims. Later cartoons blazed with strong statements on gun control; others aimed their pens at NBC and other television networks with their nonstop coverage of shooter Cho Seung-Hui’s angry videos, giving Cho exactly the kind of infamy he sought.
