The cyclone that hit Myanmar (Burma) on May 3 of this year killed upwards of 100,000 people and caused $10 billion in damage. It was the worst natural disaster in the country’s history. But the tragedy was compounded by the unwillingness of the Burmese military junta to allow much foreign aid into the country, leaving nearly one million people homeless and starving. The junta was an easy evil target for cartoonists.
