In 2012, I was working with the CEO of Zynex Medical, Thomas Sandgaard. Zynex is a medical device manufacturer that produces and markets electrotherapy devices for use in pain management, physical rehabilitation, neurological diagnosis, and cardiac monitoring. When we began working together, Obamacare was just being rolled out and the impacts to the electrotherapy device industry were unknown sending many sales reps looking for alternative income outside the industry. At the time, it appeared that Medicare would stop reimbursing on the company’s product. Since Medicare was only 10% of the top-line revenue and the company was growing around 15% per year, the future impact was considered small.
