I was taking a university, I will call them the “University of Innovation” (U of I), through the Strategy Component of the Blendification System, and the group spent a significant amount of time and energy looking into the future during the External Impacts block. They identified several key impacts to higher education that will likely happen over the next several years. A few highlights are listed below:
Reduction in high school graduates due to demographics
Reduction in demand for traditional MBA programs
Increase in negative view of traditional higher education versus trade/skills-based education
Increase in technology-driven, free content, and digital teaching/learning
