BImport and Export
This appendix is a collection of notes on the capabilities, limitations, and prerequisites of the major import and export formats that Inkscape supports.
You need to download and install external software if you want Inkscape to import certain formats.
As a rule, if you don't have the necessary external software
installed (or if it is not in PATH), Inkscape simply omits this
format from the list of supported formats in the Open or Import
dialogs.
