In our post-industrial age, manufacturers can build a toaster with relative ease, but no one has ever built a toaster that can build another toaster, and I’m going out on a very short limb to say no manufacturer ever will. Robots, at least in part, can build robots, but cars don’t build cars, and smartphones aren’t smart enough to build phones of any intellect.
