It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The name Inkscape is a quite apt one: The most sophisticated drawing tool in the program, the Calligraphic pen, indeed feels very inky. This tool, as its name implies, was initially intended for calligraphy—that is, beautiful handcrafted lettering.
