Evolving to Sales Performance Consulting

I’ve been a fan and practitioner of performance consulting for a long time. I read Robert Mager’s The New Mager Six-Pack and Thomas Gilbert’s Human Competence: Engineering Worthy Performance for the first time around 1990. After that, I read everything I could get my hands on that was related to performance improvement. I joined ATD (then ASTD) and ISPI (then NSPI). After I read Handbook of Human Performance Technology, I was completely hooked. I can’t remember the year, but I was so excited to attend ISPI’s first Moving From Training to Performance workshop.
