5 Collaborative Networking for Better Teaching and Research

My teacher-scholar journey is first and foremost one of collaboration. Nearly everything I do involves teams of between four and twenty people. My research articles are co-authored with over a hundred scholars from over twenty countries. Consistently, these co-authoring partnerships have led to lots of new ideas and, more importantly, lasting friendships. My teaching involves partnerships across dozens of institutions in many countries. My main advice to early-career scholars is to network extensively to build teaching and research relationships. As a result, I share my journey in the context of networking.
