A. From Idea to Production

The process of getting a television series from an idea (which may not even be committed to paper yet) to series production can be essentially divided into six stages. In the area of broadcast network television, which is organized around a principal “broadcast season” that runs from September of each year to June of the following year, the development process is so well established (and has remained so consistent over the decades) that it can be reliably mapped to the calendar.
