Member Institutions

INTRODUCTION

The vast majority of the 1000-plus NCAA member institutions find sports to be a money-losing endeavor. These losses are expected at each of the nearly 300 Division II and over 400 Division III member institutions, where the athletic department is viewed as an integral part of the university, as indicated by the Division II and Division III philosophy statements.
