This chapter deals with problems and troubleshooting methods to use when you have equipment-related problems. Other types of problems that you may encounter in the day-to-day performance of your job, such as location issues or personality conflicts with other crew members, are covered in other chapters.

Troubleshooting may be described as a careful system of finding the cause of a problem and correcting it. When something goes wrong, find out why, and then correct or eliminate the problem.
