Chapter 28A Glimmer of Hope

It happened like most great things do, when you least expect it. One of Michael’s clients was talking to a friend about the great success his company was having because of Social Connect’s software and it led to a sales call. It wasn’t a huge sale, but it was enough to provide a glimmer of hope that Social Connect would be able to find enough new business to replace the loss of their biggest client.

Sarah and Michael were making progress but still had a long way to go in a short amount of time. They had a month to get a few more clients and avoid taking out a loan or taking on investors. Sarah told Michael that she felt like they were being carried, that somehow, some way it was going to work out. Michael was being courageous, but he was also being practical by thinking of the best funding options if they needed to take outside money to stay afloat.

In the meantime he got up every day, determined to create his masterpiece. He talked to himself instead of listening to himself, and even started to jog once again. Love, Serve, and Care were becoming more than words at his company. They were serving as a foundation for everything Social Connect did. Michael and Sarah noticed, their employees noticed, and they just hoped their clients would notice before it was too late.

The following week more referrals came in, but they didn’t close any more new business. Michael knew how much effort they were putting into their sales and service, and he expected more. ...
