It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

MORE THAN intelligence, experience, skill, or talent, self-confidence is the most essential element in life. Pretty strong statement, right? Well, think about it. If you are extremely smart, experienced, skilled, and talented, and you have the greatest idea, but you are too timid or hesitant to step up and speak up, it is all for naught. Nothing is attempted without self-assurance.
The most important differentiators in life are being undaunted, unflappable, and broadly adequate, meaning that you have a feeling of self-worth, self-respect, self-regard, self-trust, and self-approval.
