Everyone knows you gotta have a vision. It establishes a shared understanding of the future state. But to gain genuine commitment, you’ve got to take that lofty vision and make it real.
You know you want to get to the moon, but how do you get there?
- What are we going to do to achieve the vision? Think about tactics.
- Why are we doing this? It needs to be desirable.
- Paint the picture. What does it look like? What will there be more of? What will there be less of? Start thinking about what people will do differently on the first day after the change. Make it personal.
