Abstract

From the introduction of the circular economy (CE) concept and the related national decision making process to implement it, the development of CE is steadily and rapidly occurring in various countries around the globe This fundamental and long-awaited paradigm shift is mainly attributed to the major driving forces of decoupling economic growth from the heavily impeding reliance on foreign resources, the strategic national decisions to integrate sustainable development objectives, and the urgent necessity to develop economically beneficial and environmentally friendly waste recycling and resources recovery strategies.
