When I first began writing this chapter, I asked colleagues and clients if they’d like to publicly share their stories about a time when something they’d judged negatively as a failure turned out to be a positive success in the end.
Takers? Not a one.
Failure, it seems, is the other f-word we rarely mention in polite conversation. Yet if we are working in the creative arts, we should – because rather than being something to avoid, failure is an integral part of a healthy creative process.
