Abstract:
It is argued that the wettability which is fundamental for flotation also determines the properties of fine coal aqueous suspensions and thus controls not only flotation but also flotation products dewatering and handling either as dry products or as suspensions (e.g. coal-water slurries). Typical fine particle technology problems appear also in gravity separation methods in which fine magnetite aqueous suspensions are used as a medium.
