Introduction

By now, it is practically a requirement in any area of environmental studies that you have something to say about the Anthropocene. This is an edited volume on commons in a “glocal world,” and the new thinking in this context also entails the notion of Anthropocene. As commons literature is concerned with environmental issues it cannot escape the debate on how humans now have a major impact on all systems, local and global commons included.
