There’s no doubt about it: Films are expensive. To make films, you have to either rent or buy equipment plus buy all the necessary materials. Part of the reason a lot of filmmakers start by making short films is because that’s all they can comfortably afford, and they hope that once people see what they can do, someone might be willing to help pay for a longer film.
