Preparing, Transforming, and Modeling Data
In this chapter, we’ll deep dive into the meat of preparing, transforming, and modeling data in Power BI. We will pick up on areas that we discussed at a high level in Chapters 3 and 4, where we first encountered preparing, transforming, and modeling data as part of the Power BI workflow, and then as part of the six phases of data analysis. Developing a semantic model that mirrors the business numbers that an organization relies on, and providing business users (sometimes referred to as just users) with an intuitive and performant means to review and interact with these numbers, is ultimately what the model needs to achieve.
